Arranging A Funeral

When someone dies, you can contact Tom Fogarty & Son Funeral Directors at any time on 086 804 5596.
You do not need to have all of the funeral arrangements decided before you contact us. We will guide you through what needs to happen and discuss the choices available to you.
Every funeral is different, and we will work with you to arrange a funeral that reflects the wishes of the person who has died and their family.
When Someone Dies

The first steps will depend on the circumstances and where the death has occurred. When you contact us, we will explain what needs to happen next and make the necessary funeral arrangements with you.

We are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Making the Funeral Arrangements
We will discuss the funeral with you and help you make the decisions that are appropriate for your family.
Depending on the arrangements you choose, this can include:
  • Where the person who has died will repose
  • Using our funeral home or reposing at the family residence

We can liaise with churches, clergy, cemeteries, crematoria, florists, musicians and other service providers as required, allowing the different elements of the funeral to be coordinated through us.
Funeral Services at Our Funeral Home

Our recently renovated funeral home in Tipperary Town can be used for wakes and reposing as well as full funeral services.

Both religious and non-religious ceremonies can be held in the funeral home.

Families choosing cremation can also hold a private family cremation or committal service in the funeral home. Our dedicated curtain closing mechanism allows the committal ceremony to conclude there, reducing the need for family members and mourners to travel onwards to the crematorium.

Burial and Cremation

We can arrange both burial and cremation and will explain the practical arrangements involved with either option.

For burial, we can liaise with the cemetery and arrange matters such as the purchase or opening of a grave and preparation at the graveside.

For cremation, we can make the necessary arrangements with the crematorium and organise the transfer following the funeral or committal service.

We provide a range of coffins in different styles and finishes which families can view when making the funeral arrangements or browse on our website

Funeral Costs
The cost of a funeral will depend on the arrangements and services chosen by the family. We will discuss the available options with you as the funeral is being arranged, including the services provided directly by Fogarty’s and any additional costs relating to third-party services or arrangements.
